Time To Give Your Flat Iron A Break!

When it comes to my hair, I love putting products to the test. If it can tame my Dominican curly hair, give it shine and keep frizz at bay, then that’s just what I need. That’s why I was really excited to receive Frédéric Fekkai’s new Ironless Collection. This collection is all about giving you sleek, pin-straight hair without the flat iron. That immediately caught my attention. I personally stopped using flat irons because I was using it pretty often and it wasn’t doing my hair any good.

Fekkai’s Ironless Collection features the shampoo and conditioner. Both are infused with Hibiscus Protein which makes the hair more manageable, stronger and healthier. As for the scent, it’s a mix of creamy florals and white woods, thanks to the hibiscus.

My stylist, Angela massaged the shampoo on my roots and around the hairline.  After rinsing it out, she applied the conditioner starting from the mid-lengths of my hair and down to my ends. Why? My ends tend to get dry and I’m prone to split ends. The conditioner strengthens them and there’s less breakage. We let the conditioner penetrate my hair for 10 minutes under the dryer to give my hair a little more TLC.

After rinsing it out, my hair was shinier, super easy to detangle, and it didn’t feel weighed down. Angela did my rollos, I sat in the hair dryer for an hour and thirty minutes, yes, I know that’s a long time. If you have visited a Dominican salon, you know there’s always a stylist that tells you you’re not dry even after being under there for an hour. Once I was fully dry, it was time for the blowout. The end result was silky, shiny and frizz-free hair!

I’ve been using the Ironless Collection for a month, every single week and my hair looks better week after week. I also noticed that my blowout lasts longer than it used to. It’s not greasy towards the end of the week and it’s become more manageable. If you want sleek, straight tresses and stronger hair, the Ironless Collection is just what you need. Bonus: It’s suitable for all hair types.
